LOI MI AKHA TRIBE HEADDRESS

This  LOI MI AKHA TRIBE HEADDRESS project was done during my time as a first year student at NIDA.

This was the first few projects I did at NIDA, where we had to make a cultural artefact from a specific culture that we chose. I chose the LOI MI AKHA TRIBE of Northern Thailand and decided to do their women's headdress since that is what the tribe is known for.

The metal domes made using  jewellery doming tools and the back trapezoidal piece was modelled in fusion and 3d printed. The metal domes and silver beads were hand beaded and sewn together. Side pieces were made of sheet metal and metal wires,  and of course the Thai Bhat and Malaysian RM coins.
