NZAPPA ZAP REMADE

This NZAPPA ZAP REMADE project was done during my time as a first year student at NIDA.

The project was a general workshop skills project where we were each given a continent of the world and had to remake a traditional weapon from that continent. I was assigned to Ancient Africa and chose the Nzappa Zap as my make. I was inspired by the Kifwebe Masks as well and decided to comebine both the Kifwebe Mask and Nzappa Zap designs into my remade version of the Nzappa Zap.

I decided to do 3 exchangable blades made of different materials and a wooden handle which I turned on a wood lathe. The 3 blades were made of acryllic, MDF wood and easy cast resin.
